The purpose of the Specialty Show Program is to spotlight the Nigerian Dwarf Breed at show events sanctioned by multi-breed registries such as
AGS, ADGA and CGS. Specialty shows are
considered "elite" functions and should be promoted and presented in a manner which best displays and
promotes the show aspect of the Breed.
Aside from special awards, additional
recognition is to be granted through show
reports and/or photos in Breed or Association publications.
Show Rules and Awards
1) The Nigerian Dwarf Specialty designation will be awarded only one (1)
sponsor and event in any AGS and ADGA District in any calendar year, plus one
for an ADGA, AGS or CGS National Show. An event is defined as a junior doe,
senior doe, open doe or buck show or combination of those. Although not
absolutely required, it is preferred that the Nigerian Dwarf breed be part of
a multi-breed show in order to "showcase" the Nigerian among other breeds.
2) The specialty designations shall be assigned to the appropriate show
sponsors in the order in which the ANDDA Specialties Committee has received
the proper applications. Application will be accepted through out the year,
but sanctioning will begin January 1st of the show year applied for.
Specialty designations will not be awarded to the same sponsor two years in
a row, to any two shows within 200 miles within the same week nor to any show
that does not meet with the approval of the Directors. Exceptions may be made
if there are no other applications in the same District. The Specialties
Committee must receive the application at least 60 days prior to the show.
3) The show sponsor applying for the specialty designation agrees to supply
a report of the GCH, RGCH and BOB winners. Also required are photos of the BOB,
GCH, RGCH winners within (45) forty five days of completion of the show. Failure
to do so will result in forfeiture of deposit. All photos will become property
of ANDDA. Sponsors are also encouraged to send pictures of group class winners,
as well.
4) Special awards will be provided for BOB, GCH and RGCH for each show
granted a specialty status. The BOB medallion will only provided when a
Champion Challenge class is offered by the show sponsor. Additional prizes
and awards may be offered by the sanctioning group and are encouraged.
5) Application shall consist of:
- Application form (completely filled out)
- Description of the show (type, judges, classes, etc.) Show bill would be preferred.
- A fee must accompany the application: $3.00 for each award being sought plus $20.00
deposit which will be returned to the sponsor once requirements in item 3
(above) are met.
A Senior doe show with a BOB, GCh and RGCh = three awards = $9.00
Submit:
$6.00 + $9.00 + $20.00 = $35.00
6) Group
classes are encouraged but optional. Any special awards for group classes are to be
provided by the sponsoring organization. The group class selection is determined
by the sponsor. Some suggested classes are:
