Dairy animals are bred to milk. The Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat has one of the best feed to milk ratios of any dairy breed. Their small size and smaller feed requirements make them a perfect addition to the homesteader or family farm. Their sweet milk has one of the highest butterfat contents of any registered dairy goat breed, making it ideal for cheese-makers. Many members also use extra milk to make soap and body products. Both ADGA and AGS have a January deadline to renew Dairy Herd Improvement paperwork. Our members can also recommend a lab or scales so you can begin proving the "dairy" in your dairy herd.
